This may be a stupid questions. Looking to install keyless entry. Do I cut the existing wire then solder all three ends together (2 from existing and 1 from keyless entry)?
Or should I strip, say an inch, of the insulation from existing wire and solder the new wire to the exposed existing wire? This way I don’t cut any wires. If so, how do I strip wire without cutting it? Also, by not cutting wire, how do I slide on heat shrink?
Edit: instead of heat shrink, will electrical tape suffice?
