I have a small tray that sits on the floor directly in front of the passenger seat, that holds some handheld radios with 16 inch antennas.
I popped the cover on, drove about 400 feet and came to a stop. The whip antenna moved forward, touching the glove box and the magnetic cover jumped onto the antenna and stayed there. When I looked over and the cover was gone, I said to myself, "WTF?"
It took a minute before I noticed it clinging to the top of my radio antenna. I turned the tray 90 degrees and it hasn't happened again, but now that I started playing with it, I can knock it off pretty easy.
Since im not driving my car im unable to test for it myself. I understand the problem after test fitting a few. Some have a slight variance and that is why my test piece worked out great and probably yours did not.
After testing it out with the ones I have on hand I found that some come out easier then they should. I should have tested this. No worries as the fix is an easy one.
I will be sending out a 2mm magnet to you that attaches to the glove box cover. It will now touch the keyhole metal and make a stronger bond. I will include this for anyone else that has this problem and will provide this for subsequent orders.
You're one righteous dude.

One of our members had a valet keyhole cover come off the magnet when he removed it from the sticky side of the cardboard. Sent me the pictures that made me happy and embarrassed at the same time. It turns out I somehow contaminated the production pieces with the prototype piece that was using an inferior glue for testing purposes before I got the newer plastic bonder.
Even the most simple things can create issues. Im happy that this was found out early thanks to you and that the solution was easy enough. I just wish they sold the right size magnet but this works just the same.
Sad to say I never knew about this site - do now and ordered my 20th Anniv Kit today.
