Holy Mackerel! That is absolutely beautiful! Congratulations on an amazing shine! I look forward to seeing many photos of the completed project from may angles. I think seeing this photo was the highlight of my day! Thanks for sharing.
Won't flame you for poor quality photos. I appreciate seeing that your hoopdee (spelling?) is back together. That said, I really would like to see some pictures that "reflect" (pun intended based on previous photos from April 2nd) the outcome of all of your hard work. Here's looking forwards to seeing more pics tonight!
Taking a picture of a black car in direct sunlight is very difficult and you will lose detail. You need to catch it on side that is not against the sun and the only way to do that is after 4pm. If the car is detailed and shiny its even more difficult and requires a circular polarizer otherwise the glare is gong to kill it.
I wouldn't worry that you were not able to capture it as well as you like as its not easy for anyone. The most forgiving way to do it is when you have an overcast.
I can smell this picture lol. That Trizact 3000 grit is the bomb for final wet sanding before buffing and polishing. I'm glad to see that you did the jambs and such. I see so many cars posted on FB groups where the owner and/or painter is lazy/inexperienced/hack and the car is sprayed with even the bumpers still on, which is a no no in my book for even resprays in the same color. Not to mention a color change.
I'm terrible at taking pictures as well, so you'll get no grief from me, but I bet the car really 'pops' when the sun hits it. Looks like a beautiful result from hard and proper work!
It did take quite a bit of time for the project since we took everything apart, even the doors, so we could repair and/or replace anything we found broken and to paint all of the nooks and crannies.
I also replaced the fender and trim hardware, the grill mesh for all of the vents, and rewired and fixed some hacks we found done by the previous owner.
I still need to order a few more little items, but overall I am very happy with the results and it looks way better in person than my pictures can show. 😀
I had my RAM 3500 for sale on CL and when it sold quickly, I decided to edit the post and use the remaining 20+ days I had left on the ad that I paid for to see what is out there.
I really doubt I will find anything I would like better, but you never know...
