The inner rod (45503-17040) and outer tie rod (45046-19206).
When I took the car in for alignment, we had a really hard time getting the inner and outer tie rods to move freely for perfection in alignment. In the effort, the inner rod was buggered up. Are there preferred replacements brands? Just curious, is this one of those swappable parts with another Toyota model?
The Moog brands are EV800551 (inner) and ES3353RL (outer), The replacement looks pretty strait forward. Any tricks of the trade?
Look at your inner boots and potentially replace them as well. Using an inner tie rod tool makes the job a lot easier, you can rent one from Autozone or the like. Also measure the length of the inner and outer assembled before removing them and set the new ones to the same. That will keep toe close enough to drive to an alignment shop but you will still want it aligned.
I believe I bought MOOG inner and outer tie rods and they fit well and I've had no issues with them so far. This was years ago.
