What Is This?

Hello. I am, relatively speaking, a noob. If someone could help me out with one or both of the following two questions I would really appreciate it.

First, the white connector shown in the pic has two wires going in and the other end is a strange looking piece of metal. I pulled it up from hanging by the block to get a pic.

Second, the next pic shows the engine compartment, passenger side, and a couple of threaded holes are shown. Any idea what should be there?

Thanks!

White thingy has the metal flange that is supposed to slip into a rubber slot for mounting.  There should be one nearby.

I think it’s a noise filter (capacitor?) for maybe AM radio?

I make Amateur Armrests - see the Commercial Forum. I also have SMT repair seals available.

I second this. As the RPM's rise there will be an electrical noise that comes through the cars speakers. This alleviates that.

As for the holes, who knows. I dont recognize anything on that side.. there's lots of extra holes in the engine compartment.
