I've gotten so many compliments on the TRD shifter feel, including from an S2000 owner (let's be fair, the S2000 shifter is divine). I love the TRD Quick Shift Kit.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but why was the "C quick shift" so popular at one time and yet a "perfect copy" is getting weak/bad reviews? Maybe we should have asked SuperKlasse to make a copy of the TRD shiftier instead if that what folks really want? Or is it a case of people want what they don't have?
I certainly do not know but I think a copy of the TRD would be met by the one or two lawyers Toyota has on their payroll. I have the TRD but the idea was a good shifter that does not cost $400 - $500 dollars.
I cannot live with the "Leaning Tower" shifter look. It will either get bent, turned into a lampshade, or ........

Yep! My S2000 has an Axial Flow short shifter and even after nearly 400,000 miles I still smile on every shift. I get that same feeling with the TRD since I properly Moly lubricated it. It is amazing to me that the Spyder can be made to shift so beautifully given the shifting geometry from the engine placement!

Not a stupid question. Just a stupid assumption from everyone that thought this would be a great shifter but the reality is no one actually had the original. We all assumed that it was going to be close to the TRD based on Celica reviews.
An interesting bit of info. Look at this:

Check out the C's and the TWM. A member (MRSwede) on AdChat posted about this in the SuperKlasse thread regarding the C's reproduction. Interesting!

Excellent read. I now wish I had the TWM but what I find interesting in the B&M design is a counter weight in the lower half that probably helps with feel.
I saw the pic on SC with the tall, leaning shifter- even if it shifts better than the OEM one, that looks, well,...not good...
I have the TRD one and have for many years (I think I paid something like $180 or $200 back then)- I’ll never give that one up, even if there’s better ones out there.
Is it just me or does it look like the C's has two bends? It looks to me like the SuperKlasse C's replica and the TWM are the same. Correct me (please!) if I am wrong.

Here is the SuperKlasse Replica, the shifter comparison from NewCelica, and a page from the C's install instructions. Notice the appearance of the shifter in the top panel of the instructions.

Interesting.
Here are my observations.
The Stock shifter has a very slight bend.
The B&M is the straightest. What this does is slightly move the stick more to the divers side. You cant tell by the looks when its on the car and it doesn't change anything in regard to the feel.
The TRD shifter corrects for this by curving slightly towards the passenger side which puts the shifter in a straight position but we also have to consider the the shifter cage is different so we cant judge the slope compared to the others.
Here is where it gets interesting.
The TWM shifter bends even closer to the drivers side. This is not good. It is not the same as the C shifter in all of its dimensions.
The C shifter has a very sharp bend, almost like moving it over so it corrects the shifter so it rests perfectly in the middle with no slope.
The SuperKlasse Replica is the worst of the bunch because its not a replica of the C shifter. It is bent at an angle to try and bring it closer to the midline but its wrong.
Unless the MR-S version is different than the Celica version SuperKlasse got it wrong and that is why it looks sloped.
There has been talk of replicating the TRD shifter and it might not be that simple without also suppling it with the cage.
No one has posted a photo of the C's shifter. SK claims it's a direct replica.
I have photos of a stock shifter vs 5 speed TRD vs 6 speed TRD. All have the same double bend, same angle and intensity. Cage position is identical forward and back and side to side when in the car, because the cage is almost identical in general.

By looking at the diagram for the instructions you can see that the C shifter has the S bend.
The replica only has one bend. It deviates off from the midline and thats why its sloped.
We need the picture of the original C shifter to compare but my bet is the original has the S bend which simple moves the shifter to the center but straight so it doesn't look awkward.
