How do I put the vents back lol
Wow. There's a method to replacing the vent. It's a push tab. So while you have the vent out, reach behind the body frame, turn them and press on the fasteners. The orientation are as follows.
Slide the tabs onto the vent like so
and voila!

My car's previous owner truly didn't love the car.
While removing the soft top today to make way for Lizard Skin, Hard Dog and a hard top I saw how eff'd the drains were.

Looks like itβs where he stashed his maryhoochieΒ
Anybody else notice they took precautions with a backup drain on the car in the lowest part of the sheet metal behind the seats, only for RHD cars and not ours? There is a grommet drain on the rh side of the car which would be where the PCM and relays are for the RHD car but there is none on the LH side of the car.Β
Seems like they may have overlooked that bit on our cars.

Not surprised. JDM and Europe always get the better models.
Was not able to find out much about the history of my car when I bought it.Β But based solely on appearances, it appeared to have spent a significant portion of its life out side.
Upon purchase, immediately noticed/smelled signs of moisture --- smelled like mold ---, so made drain cleaning an immediate priority.
When I actually cleaned the drains, I found them to be very much like Wilco.Β Lots of leaves and other stuff (cigarette butts, really) both at the top and bottom of the drains.Β Had to use: medium gauge copper wire; compressed air; and low pressure water to get the drains completely cleaned. Lastly, noticed that the rubber flappers at the bottom of the drains had actually gotten stuck shut.Β Removed the rubber flappers.
Result: no further draining problems....no carbon monoxide poisoning. LOL
