Anyone do rear pads themselves? The main issue seems to be compressing the piston.
First side took me 3 hours to do lol. 2nd side took 6 minutes haha. I had a breakthrough on technique.
I ended up using posiquiet ceramics. Ive got centric rotors all around and semi metallic posi quiets in the front. FYI posiquiet is a line from centric.
You spin the piston in using a special tool. Not the crappy cube. A lot of the time those pistons are really hard to rotate as calipers age.
Posiquiets are great pads.

RIA, 2 different types of pads, f&r? Be careful.
Also, sturdy needle nose pliers can be used to screw in the piston. Yes, the square is a nice, simple idea, but the one I used lasted about 1/2 a turn. A real tool, a disk with 2 nubs, is the bestest/easiest tool to use.
"Think as we think", say many Spyder owners, "or you are abominably wicked, you are a toad". After I'd thought about, I said "I will then, be a toad."

I run Wilwood BP-1 in the front and Posiquiets on the rear. Been through a dozen autocrosses and a track day just fine! Not saying it's a great idea, but I haven't noticed a problem as long as the front pads are grabbier. You don't want the rear locking up.

I thought we had ABS on these cars? I tried to lock mine up once, no dice.

You can pull the ABS fuses to disable ABS when playing if you want...
Mono Craft GT-300 with a few upgrades...
You can also lock the brakes up a bit at lower speeds despite the ABS, the ABS is pretty unintrusive on this car it seems. I've locked all four brakes trying to left foot brake before.

The proper tool, makes the job go super easy. I got a brake tool from ... I can't remember where and it makes rotating the calipers a breeze. I think I got it from Harbor Freight or Amazon. Using that makes the process go so much easier than using the $10 cube that never really matches up.
