You might also consider a piece of one of those carpet protectors that goes under a wheeled office chair. They have little spikes that will hold it in place, are readily available, reasonably priced and available locally, come in various levels of stiffness, and are big enough to allow you to make a few mistakes on the road to near-pwrfection.

I still recommend a stitch or ten to keep it from flopping around. Do not mess around with your pedals!

That looks tacky but I might do that while I wait for my item to arrive.

Pfaff 1245.  Upgraded with digital motor.  I love the control now!  The old clutch motor is ridiculous.

I make Amateur Armrests - see the Commercial Forum. I also have SMT repair seals available.

Model T was the best for its time. Pfaffs are nice and robust. Never tried one but always hear good things about it.
