The system diagram:

The EU system only has the VSV for EVAP (the blue solenoid halfway the inlet rubber) and a simple canister between tank vent and the solenoid. The US has the rest. The EU canister is a véry simple delete throwing no fault codes as long as you leave the solenoid in place. Would still be nice to know though under which conditions the blue VSV opens the ´purge line´.
Anyone?

The nice thing about keeping the EVAP system intact is no fuel fumes, and since there is much less air exchange with the atmosphere, your fuel degrades much more slowly. The factory shop manual has a rather detailed description of the operation strategy for the valves.
