One last thing. Im going to put up a code of conduct thread soon.
Basically Spyderchat rules of no personal attacks and such that applies to everyone. Im going to make them very simple to start out with and the rest of the group can decide what needs to be added or taken down. I think its important that we have this as a start if we are going to survive because once more members get here it will get a bit rough with disgruntled personalties that will want to burn the place down. I seen it before and I don't want it to happen again.
I agree. That will help a lot and make it clear why or why not someone gets banned, etc.

I got most of it done. As far as the banning goes I have no idea how we should go about it.
I really would hate see anyone banned but I suppose if some psycho gets really disruptive we will have no other choice and believe me once we get 100 members like clock work there will be those that want to burn this place down and will try to bring others with them by testing our hypocrisy concerning the rules. It sucks and it is unpleasant.
It's sloooowwwww....
What's up with that?

If this becomes a sort of regularly intermittent thing, I'll look into beefing up the hosting. This will depend on how frequently the performance drops.

Suggestion about forum rules:
There is a good discussion, but it is broad.
I suggest that each main topic have a sticky for rules and suggestions that apply to that topic.
For example, in the For Sale topic, there be a sticky saying that prices should be clear, and other rules to prevent double crossing. Then also suggestions about where the item is located, whether a short trip for delivery is offered, the weight of the item, post pictures, etc.
Making a single sticky for the whole board might not be something people will read in entirety, although the civility rules do apply everywhere.
i'll work on those rules in the for sale section... i have a good one from my other forum...
Yes sounds like a great idea.

I've received notices of the site being down. I've also noticed a slowdown on one occasion.

Very well done. I like it a lot.
There are only three areas, well actually two.
There should be a header stating. Seller rules. Its minor.
Not being able to comment on the sale. If someone posts something for sale and there is something off, I think even if someone is not interested in said item they should be able to ask a relevant question to expose the potential of fraud to protect its members. I don't think they should be disruptive but asking question if there is suspicion might good way to sell because its out in the open and self regulating.
For rule number 8. I think the best course of action instead of editing the post is to hold the post in moderation and then asking the member to make the changes. Editing someones writing should be avoided as much as possible. If they refuse then the post sits in moderation until they do.
Apart from that its very clear and address potential issues that can come up when selling.

Bumping this to the top to get Patricks attention. This member wants in but is unable to do so.
Thanks
I just noticed that when you start a thread the first post don't have an edit button . Then after the first post the edit button re-appears . Is this happening for anyone else ?
Like it's not ok to edit the starting post .
Also like to say the report button works !!! Thanks Pat for the title change .
