You wouldn't know unless you took them apart, AKA destroyed them. 

Haha I had a pack of those. Red ones, for my Corolla's gauge cluster. One would start flickering every 1-2 months.

What 194s did you get? They don't look so good. Light is absolutely worthless without proper optics, and anything that doesn't shine backwards will be worthless past 10 feet. 

Also when shooting photos of the LEDs, why not compare one side LED to other side incandescent? Only way to know if you upgraded or downgraded.

See the videos 1/2 way down the page and the write up on the installation. $5 to buy the piece and just a little time gets you some peace of mind. Sometimes if I’m at a stoplight and I see someone come up behind me, I’ll release then reapply the brakes just to get the flashing effect to keep people off my 6.

I got the flasher from SuperbrightLEDs.com for the above $5- as for the LEDs, I don’t recall which ones I got but they were also from SuperbrightLEDs I believe and not too much money.
