Hello. I need to protect my Spyder and record what happens in front of my car and record audio. Does anyone have a vote for perhaps the ultimate dashcam?
Thanks!

I always recommend the Street Guardian. Amazing quality. High price but I had cheap dash cams before. Not worth it.

if you are looking for a little more budget friendly. roav has decent cams...
Do you have any specific recommendations in the Street Guardian line? I do not think I need a rear camera. The Street Guardian lineup looks like what I am looking for. Also, what type of power cord connection does it have? Proprietary, micro or mini USB, etc?

I personally use the old wedge style, this is the updated version of this. I don't run a rear camera either. 64GB is plenty for me, it rewrites itself so no worries about storage but 32GB wasn't enough to capture a track day/autocross, make it home, and not have the beginning of the day rewritten. 64GB is plenty. https://amzn.to/2SYwQmd
Looks like they still use mini USB like most dash cams. I cracked open a tiny PNY car adapter and soldered wires to the car side, and plugged the USB cable into it. And then hard wired the soldered on wires.

I missed your link, found the one that I wanted and ordered it. Then I saw your link and found that I had ordered the same one, just a bit more memory.
THANKS!

Haha sweet. More memory is NEVER a bad thing. I ordered 32GB and paid for a 64GB upgraded card later. 128GB is even better frankly.

I got 400 GB, that seemed to be a "sweet spot" for bang for the buck in terms of memory. (God, I still have a computer in my closet with a 40 MB hard drive. No that wasn't a typo!) I will be using it in a parking mode as well so that more memory will help.
I routinely switch between 3 different cars to daily (my Spyders or my S2000) so my next mission will be making it possible to (easily) switch between cars. I bought 3 hard wire kits so the only other aspect that I need to address is the mount. Do you use the double-sided tape mount or the suction cup? And where do you mount yours?
Thanks for the help!

Does your dvr have an external GPS that plugs into it? Also, are you using the cigarette lighter plug adaptor or did you hardwire yours?
Thanks!

Yes it's in the passenger side corner, I took it apart and flipped its internals as theyre made to be dash mounted.
Hardwire, I explained how above.

I have to say that this dashcam is one quality piece! Thanks a lot for the recommendation.

Glad to help! The nighttime video is so clear it's pretty nuts.
